Elizabeth Buschur, MD
Presenter Bio
Dr. Buschur is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Metabolism, Endocrinology and Diabetes at The Ohio State University Medical Center. She received her medical degree in 2008 at the University of Texas, Medical School at San Antonio. She completed her residency in 2011 at the University of Michigan. In 2013 she completed a fellowship in Metabolism, Endocrinology and Diabetes. In 2014 she completed a second fellowship in Women’s Health from the University of Michigan. Her research and clinical interests include Diabetes in pregnancy, thyroid disease in pregnancy, transitions of care among young adults with diabetes, general endocrinology, women’s health. She has published 9 articles and 1 book chapter.
Objectives
  1. Recognize symptoms of hypothyroidism and what blood test is the best screening test for hypothyroidism.
  2. Describe management of hypothyroidism.
  3. Describe possible treatments for hyperthyroidism.
  4. Describe typical clinical course of postpartum thyroiditis.
  5. Outline the diagnostic workup for evaluation of a thyroid nodule.
