Johnson, MD, MPH, FAHA discusses the benefits of using an intensive treatment algorithm, and the GATEWAY Randomized Trial, where Carlos Schiavon, MD, FACS discusses the effects of bariatric surgery in obese patients with hypertension. A presentation on the global burden of hypertension is also part of the session, as well presentations on other trials.
