Learning Objectives
Upon completion of the educational activity, participants should be able to:
• Review the assessment and risk stratification for VTE in patients admitted for acute medical illness and post hospitalization
• Evaluate the clinical trial data for the current and emerging therapies for extended VTE prophylaxis in the acute care and post hospitalization setting
• Discuss thromboprophylaxis during hospitalization, the transitioning of care, and after hospital discharge in patients admitted for acute medical illness
