Johnathan Schaffir, MD

Dr. Schaffir is an associate professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Dr. Schaffir received his M.D. in 1990 at Brown University. He completed his residency in 1994 at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in New York. His major research and clinical interests include sexual health, obstetrical folklore and psychosocial ob/gyn. He has published 18 articles and 6 book chapters and authored/edited 1 book.
Learning Objectives
1. Identify ways to prevent and screen for common cancers.
2. Know when immunizations and routine screening are appropriate to prevent infectious diseases.
3. Describe lifestyle changes (e.g. nutrition, cessation of abusive behavior) that prevent disease.
4. Discuss appropriate screening and prevention of heart disease.
5. Discuss screening and prevention of osteoporosis.
